The Opportunity

Bailard is seeking a Business Development Officer/Wealth Management Advisor to join its Wealth Management Group. This combination role will focus on expanding and deepening the firm’s partnership related to Schwab’s referral program as well as maintaining relationships with the firm’s existing high net worth client base. 

Bailard is eager to find a candidate who has experience with both understanding and serving the high net worth marketplace as well as the ability to drive growth within the firm. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and be able to adapt quickly, and remain flexible.  Prior experience with the Schwab Advisor Network a plus. The position reports to the Director of Wealth Management Group.

Key responsibilities for the Business Development effort will include:

  • Continuing to expand and service the Schwab Advisor Network platform relationship
  • Deepening relationships with Schwab Financial Consultants (FC) including promptly responding to all FC inquiries and leads
  • Scheduling branch visits, lunches and special events
  • Maintaining and reporting on sales pipeline and evaluating quality of pending pipeline

Key responsibilities for Wealth Management Advisor role will include:

  • Ongoing relationship management for high net worth client base
  • Ongoing portfolio management of accounts
  • Consulting with clients on various wealth planning issues
  • Coordinating with clients’ outside advisors


The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, CFP® or CFA a plus
  • 10+ years of work experience in financial services industry
  • Series 7 and 66
  • Excellent client and co-worker references—must be a team player
